Rheumatoid Arthritis
Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is an autoimmune disease that causes chronic inflammation of the joints in people both young and old. RA can also cause inflammation of the tissue around the joints and organs in the body. RA is a chronic illness, meaning it can last for years, and people with RA may go for long periods without any symptoms. However, RA is a progressive illness with the potential to cause joint destruction and functional disability. These functions are surely less harmful to tissues than the attrition of bone upon bone at the joints, for example. You could say that that says more is better, but those exercises generally take a toll on your joints. So marathoners have good cardiovascular systems, but they will probably have to have their joints replaced. But in general, if somebody could do a minimum of 30 minutes—maybe we could raise it to 60—of exercise at least five times a week that would help. And it doesn't appear to have to be all at one time, although that seems to be better. If you did that and you could sustain it, that would be good.

Another symptom of dehydration is rheumatoid pain, or arthritic pain, which has to do with any sort of joint pain because the joints are lubricated by water. The water creates a small film of water that helps lubricate the interface of the joint. With dehydration this lubricating film of water evaporates and the joints rub right on each other. Back pain, particularly lower back pain, and sciatica are often the result of the intervertebral discs becoming dehydrated. Check the flexibility of the deck you run on, which needs to be flexible enough to reduce the impact on your joints, otherwise you will end up not using it because of an injury. Make sure the width and length of the belt are as wide and long as possible.
